Victorian Floral Painted Box with Mother of PearlBeautiful Victorian black lacquered box with handpainted flowers and mother of pearl inlay. The lid has been nicely cleaned; the front of the box is darker and shows the boxs age. It dates to the mid 19th century, when Chinoiserie inspired decorative objects with black lacquer, dark florals, and pearl were most popular. The box retains its original patterned paper lining, also in very good condition. Measures about 10. 25 x 7. 5 x 3. 75.
