Vauxite (outstanding color!)A remarkable, very well crystallized, OUTSTANDING blue color, ridiculously rare specimen consisting of radiating crystal aggregates of Vauxite on clay matrix. I have photographed the crystals under the microscope to show that they are truly terminated crystals and not just a blue mass. I must point out that these crystals of Vauxite show the most electric neon blue color that I've seen for the species, but it appears that the rich color is due to a

distinct internal "phantoms"

A worthwhile Wavellite

and obtaining specimens is next to impossible because miners rarely bring out anything for sale

and it’s essentially damage free save the bottom where it detached from the matrix

It’s amazingly well-formed

translucent greenish-brown colored Siderite crystals and minor grey crystals of the rare sulfide

and you would be hard pressed to find better color Vauxite anywhere

I will say that this is certainly one of the most lustrous crystal groups from this find

A fairly sharp

and the sheer size makes for an excellent Wavellite specimen

1 cm are aesthetically set atop the underlying host rock matrix
