Dogon Mask
Description
Dogon MaskThis beautiful and unusual mask comes from the Dogan people of Mali. Dogon masks have large geometric eyes and stylised features. They are used in ceremonies for story telling, and many masks are in the form of animals that are associated with their mythology. This particular mask is hand carved from indigenous wood and evokes the form of a Baboon with its long and distinctive central design and small ears. Style as a structural decorative object.
