Pyren Vineyard Pentagon Gamay 2024The wine has a wild positivity, drive and a plushness of fruit expected from Gamay, cleverly tethered by stemsy fermentation and aging in older barrels giving the wine Pyrenees warmth but restraint. Grafted over Shiraz vines in late 2022. Handpicked and fermented though whole bunch, carbonic maceration for 7 days, prior to destemming to open ferments. Rested in used 500L French oak. Prized volatile esters encircle aromas of raspberry and passionfruit.
