Aberfeldy 1991-2001 | 10 Year Old | Provenance Single Cask
Description
Aberfeldy 1991-2001 | 10 Year Old | Provenance Single CaskHighland Single Malt Scotch WhiskyBottled by: Douglas McGibbon 70cl 43% A 10 year old Aberfeldy 1991 bottled by Douglas Laing in 2001 for their Provenance series which had been introduced the year before as a companion to the Old Malt Cask range. This Provenance Aberfeldy 1991 came from a single 10 year old cask reduced to 43% but bottled without colouring or chill filtration, and as it's from Aberfeldy we'd expect this to be very good stuff.
and (perhaps coincidentally) that's almost as perfect a description of Auld Reekie and her inhabitants as any friendly Glaswegian could come up with
A long-aged Glen Grant is always a wonderful thing
A 50-year-old Glenlivet 1940 bottled in a crystal decanter by Gordon & MacPhail around 1990
as well as whisky from Glenallachie
almost tarry layers of green Chartreuse
Drawn from cask 7005 after maturing in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Puncheon for 27 years
this was the last truly successful official core range bottling from the distillery and is a delightful example of honeyed easy-drinking island single malt whisky
Peaty and smoky
A part from being one of the numerous incredible malts that G&M have released from the pre-war years of the 1930s
With water more rounded but similar
Toasted oak and earthy smoke are held back by layers of fruit and honey
this doesn't really display much in the way of distillery character
