イタリア・チェゼーナ出身のフォトグラファー、グイド・グイディ（Guido Guidi）の作品集。40年の時を隔てた2回のサルディーニャへの旅で制作された2冊には、作風が成長していくプロセスだけでなく、本土から遠く離れたこの島の歴史的な推移と変化をつぶさに見ることができる。作者が初めてサルディーニャを撮影したのは1974年のハネムーンの時だった。60年代以降のサルディーニャにおける社会的・政治的状況を反映したモノクロの作品をNikon FとFIAT 127で撮った。2011年の2度目の旅ではHasselblad、Deardorff 8x10とキャノンのデジタルカメラを使い、今では作者の代名詞とも言える、一種の諦観さえ感じさせる優し気な色使いでサルディーニャを描写した。
